Hi there and welcome to my website! I’m Anna, an Environmental Science and Sustainability Studies double major at Muhlenberg College.

On campus, I am a Sustainability Intern for Sodexo Dining Services in which I tend to our dining hall’s hydroponic garden and other sustainability initiatives. One of our programs is Weigh the Waste, in which students can volunteer to help sort food waste in the Wood Dining Commons during lunch. Others include reusable to-go containers and cups, local purchasing, and a meal swipe drive.
I am also involved in our environmental action team, enACT, as a general member. I have been involved with gardening initiatives, earth day planning and clothing swap events. I am a member of Alpha Chi Omega, and our campus philanthropy dance marathon, Mule-a-thon.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to be the Environmental Intern at Heidelberg Materials in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Through this experience I saw industrial environmental issues, solutions, or repercussions firsthand. I worked on projects including environmental, health and safety information and inventory, land inspection, universal waste management, and community relations. I care deeply about our planet and its people, aiming to do my part as best as I can to reduce my own consumption and ecological footprint. Sustainability is all around us and can be implemented in so many different aspects of our lives, which I hope to show more of the world upon obtaining my degree. As part of the course Sustainable Solutions, I will be researching problems and solutions in Carbon County, PA as they relate to sustainability such as natural resource use, economic development, and environmental justice issues. Through the work of this project, I hope to find and understand solutions to increase sustainability in small communities.
